Mortality

 

Harrogate has a remarkably low death-rate, and bears a most favourable comparison with that of other inland watering-places.

From all causes:‑

In 1894 it was 12‑5 per 1000.

„ 1895 12‑6 „

„ 1896 10‑3 „

„ 1897 11‑5 „

Average of 11.7 per 1000 per annum.

Deaths from infectious diseases (Zymotic) :‑

In 1894 it was ‑48 per 1000.

„ 1895 ‑05 „

„ 1896 ‑05 „

„ 1897 ‑02 „

Average of 0.15 per 1000 per annum.

Comment on the above figures is needless.
