Samuel Hattersley - 28th February 1775 - R052a

Knaresborough, Yeoman

To my wife Elizabeth Hattersley the house, outbuildings, and two closes, at Forest Lane Head, approximately 3a, and now occupied by John Simpson. Also the leasehold house, in which I now live, in Briggate, Knaresborough, chargeable with my legacies. At her death the same to my eldest son Mark Hattersley.

To my son Mark the copyhold close called Geld Pitt or Low Close, approximately ½a, in Beckwith with Rossett, and now occupied by Benjamin Winterburn. Also the house called Cold Well House, with the close, containing 4a, and now occupied by John Tengatt, chargeable with £60 to my son Joseph Hattersley, and £40 each to my three daughters, Sarah Heald, wife of John Heald, Tabitha Chambers, wife of William Chambers, and Dorothy Lupton, wife of William Lupton.

Should Sarah die before inheriting, then the same to be shared by her husband John, and son, Timothy Musgrave.

To my son Samuel Hattersley the close called Wade Close at Sulphur Wells, Parish of Pannal, containing 3a, and now occupied by John Tengatt.

The residue of my personal estate, goods and chattels, to my wife, whom I appoint Executrix.
