Private F Linfoot

Harrogate Herald - 20th June 1917

Private F Linfoot has been awarded the DCM for "leading his platoon in an excellent manner, taking his first objective, reorganising his men and leading on, gaining his second objective and consolidating the position". Private Linfoot has been in France with the West Yorks since September, 1914, and seen some very severe fighting, so far escaping without injury. He was formerly employed by the Harrogate and District Co-operative Society. His wife and family reside at Harrogate and his father and mother at Spofforth, where Linfoot was brought up. He expects to be home on leave shortly.
