Roll of Honour

Captain Harry Mettam Procter, West Yorkshire Regiment, who was killed in action on August 27th, was the younger son of the late Charles Procter of Leeds and Harrogate, a former member of Procter Brothers, Call Lane, Leeds. He was 22 years of age, as educated at Bedale's School, Petersfield, and on the outbreak of war was studying art in London. He enlisted in the West Yorkshire in August, 914, obtained his commission in December of that year, and had been in France for the past 12 months, previous to which he had served in the Gallipoli campaign.
